TINA RIEDY'S PORTFOLIO

About Me

Hi. I'm Tina Riedy.
I’m an empathetic design mind
creating multimedia solutions
for instructional design challenges.
Empathy | I enjoy designing for learners of all ages and ability levels, and I’m dedicated to making unheard voices heard. My favorite project to create so far has been “Wake: A Balance of Energy & Hope,” a branching, text-based RPG about living with depression. This game was designed to increase the emotional intelligence of and empathy in players.

Design Mind | Planning and creating work in tandem in my mind. I’m an even mix of A- and B-type personalities, which means every creative project becomes structured and every structured project becomes creative. Instructional design has been the perfect fit for someone like me.

Multimedia Solutions | I have a long love story with media production, starting with music videos I acted out and produced with my cousin in middle school and frame-by-frame animations drawn out with friends in high school (complete with original soundtrack). I loved media production so much I got my undergraduate degree in Digital Film Production. Since then, I’ve put my skills and experience to the test at sea with Princess Cruises, on land as a freelancer, and in corporate with the eLearning company Vector Solutions. Creating media solutions has become my forte. Young Tina would be proud.

Instructional Design | I discovered instructional design as a specialization in 2016. I started taking on ID work at Vector Solutions even though I was a Creative Media Specialist at the time, and my love for it grew. It began with creating branching scenarios in Storyline 2 for a Title IV course geared toward a college-aged audience. Next thing I knew, I was diving headfirst into graduate school for Instructional Design & Technology. Since then, I’ve created (and coded) educational games, mapped out lesson plans, produced a variety of instructional multimedia content, assumed a Junior ID role, conducted focus groups and user testing sessions, and been involved in academic research projects. All of these experiences have confirmed my excitement and affinity for instructional design.

More | I’m a storyteller at heart and bring story into every project I touch. I value honesty, creativity, teamwork, follow-through, and kindness
